DEL CRANDALL Draper-Maynard catcher's mitt

This glove is a Draper-Maynard 1940's-1950's Del Crandall "autograph model" catcher's mitt. This does not mean that the glove is actually autographed. It has a factory stamped facsimile autograph of Del Crandall. It has all lacing intact and no splits or cracking. It is in excellent to near mint condition.   

BRUCE EDWARDS model Rawlings catcher's mitt

This glove is a Rawling's 1940-1950's Bruce Edwards model catchers mitt. Bruce Edwards played for the Brooklyn Dodgers in the 1940's and also played for the Cubs and Cincinnati Reds. This mitt is in very good to excellent condition. All lacing is intact and no splits or tears on the leather. Just shows normal wear.

HARVEY HADDIX model - 6 Finger Fielder's Glove

This glove is what is known as a "six" fingered glove due to the webbing being made like a sixth finger. It is a 1940's - 50's era Harvey Haddix model glove made by MacGregor. Richie Ashburn was one of the 1950 Phillies Whiz Kids" who won the pennant but lost the World Series to the heavily favored Yankees, losing 3 of the 4 games by 1 run. The glove is in excellent condition.

Hall of Famer JOE CRONIN model glove - circa 1930's

This is a 1930's era split fingered glove made by the Goldsmith Company (now MacGregor-Goldsmith). It is a Joe Cronin model glove. Joe Cronin started his career with Pittsburgh in the N.L. in 1926 and later played for Washington and Boston in the A.L. during his 20 career as an infielder, mainly at shortstop. He was later a player-manager for the Washington Senators and managed the Boston Red Sox. He was inducted into the major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1956. This glove is in beautiful condition for its age.   

Fielder's Glove 2 Finger model (circa 1940-1950)

The glove on top is known as a two finger glove. It's called 2 fingers because the thumb is not counted as a finger. This is a circa 1940-1950 model glove. This glove has excellent lacing and is in great condition. It is made by Wilson Sporting Goods.

WILLIE "Puddin Head" JONES 3 Finger Fielder's Glove (circa 1940-1950)

The glove on bottom is known as a 3 finger glove from the 1940-1950's era. It was made by the Rawlings Company and is the Willie "Puddin' Head" Jones model. Willie Jones played 3B for the Phillies from 1947-1959.

Vintage Baseman's Mitt - circa 1895-1905

This is an 1890s-1905 era baseman's mitt. The glove has no separation of fingers as became popular in later models. The piping is in excellent condition as is the glove. No splits or tears. A great show piece.

Vintage Baseman's Mitt - circa 1910-1920

This vintage baseman's mitt is from the early 1900s era. The "fingered" mitts were worn mainly by pitchers. This glove is in great shape and would make a terrific addition to someone's collection.   

1940's Era Split-Fingered Fielder's Glove

This is a 1940's era split fingered fielder's glove used by the US military during WWII. These gloves were used in inter-company games and pickup games or a simple game of catch by the troops during their brief periods of rest. It is stamped US 1945 on the back of the glove. This glove was made by the Goldsmith Company (now MacGregor-Goldsmith) and is in excellent shape.

1920's-30's Era Split-Fingered Fielder's Glove

This is a 1920's-30's era split fingered fielder's glove. These gloves did not have laced fingers like later models. This glove was made by the Goldsmith Company (now MacGregor-Goldsmith) and is in excellent shape.

RICHIE ASHBURN model glove - circa 1940's-50's

This is a 1940's-50's Richie Ashburn model fielders glove. Richie's name is stamped on the glove and it is also autographed. Richie Ashburn was inducted into the baseball Hall of Fame in 1995. He died 2 years later. He spent 15 years in the majors and 12 of them playing center field for the Phillies. He won the NL batting title twice (1955, 1958) and carried a lifetime .308 batting average. He was also a longtime Phillies Broadcaster up until his death in 1997. This is a normal five fingered fielder's glove. All of the labeling is ingreat condition and the lacing is intact. This glove has no splits, cracks or tears. It is in excellent condition and displays well as seen here.   

Vintage Crescent Pad model gloves - RARE - circa 1895-1905

These two gloves are rare finds in such excellent condition. They are turn of the century "Crescent Pad" gloves circa 1895-1905. They are so named for the raised pads around the outer edges of the pockets. This is a beautiful set with a catcher's mitt and a fielder's split finger glove. There are no splits or cracks on either glove and the lacing is all intact. They are beautifully preserved and great display pieces. The catcher's mitt has perfect lacing. There is no webbing on this model from that era. All labeling is intact. Some models of fielder's gloves had a solid webbing - this model has criss-crossed lacing for webbing.

ROBIN ROBERTS autographed mini-glove   
The mini-gloves are small promotional gloves made by Academa Sports Company. They are used to promote their full-sized professional model gloves. They are 7" from top of webbing to the heel of the glove and about 6" across. Perfect for desktop display. They are actual smaller leather versions of their larger professional models. Signed by Robin Roberts and inscribed "HOF 76" - his Hall of Fame induction year of 1976.

EDDIE JOOST AUTOGRAPHED MacGregor fielder's mitt - circa 1940's

This is a MacGregor 1940's player model button back glove. It is stamped Eddie Joost on the end finger of the pocket. Eddie Joost played 2B for Cincinnati in the 30's and 40's and for Boston in the NL in the 40's. He played for the Philadelphia A's from 1948 to 1954 and as player-manager in 1954 until they moved to Kansas City. The glove is in excellent shape with all lacing and piping intact. No splits or tears. Just shows normal wear. It is autographed by Eddie Joost on the outside of the end finger.   

BOBBY SHANTZ AUTOGRAPHED Regent model fielder's glove

This is Regent player model glove with Bobby Shantz stamped in the pocket.  It is a L/H glove like the one Bobby wore during his playing days with the A's, Yankees, Cardinals and Phillies. Bobby Shantz was the 1952 AL MVP. The glove is autographed by Bobby on the outside of the thumb. The glove is in excellent condition with all lacing and piping intact as well as the labeling.   

CURT SIMMONS AUTOGRAPHED Regent model fielder's glove

This is Regent player model glove with Curt Simmons stamped in the pocket.  It is a L/H glove like the one Curt wore duiring his playing days with the Cardinals and Phillies. The glove is also autographed by Curt on the outside of the end finger. The glove is in excellent condition with all lacing and piping intact as well as the labeling.   

EDDIE WAITKUS model Wilson 1st baseman's mitt

This is a beautifully preserved Wilson 1940's-1950's Eddie Waitkus player model 1st baseman's mitt. As one of "The Whiz Kids" for the 1950 Phillies Eddie Waitkus played 1st base from 1949 until 1955 for the Phils. He may best be remembered for being shot in the chest by a deranged fan at a hotel in Chicago in 1949 but survived to play for 6 more years. This glove has all of the lacing and piping intact and has no splits or tears and shows very little wear. It makes a beautiful display piece.   
   

FRANK McCORMICK model MacGregor 1st baseman's mitt

This is a MacGregor 1930's-1940's Frank McCormick player model 1st baseman's mitt with his name stamped in the pocket. Frank McCormick played in the 30's and 40's with Cincinnati, Phillies and Boston Braves. This glove is in great shape will labeling intact as well as the lacing and piping. It show normal wear.   

M & W Sporting Goods "Snap 'Em" model

This is an M & W Sporting Goods 1930's-1940's "Snap 'Em" model fielder's mitt. It is for a left handed player. The glove is in terrific shape with all lacing intact. There is some slight splitting of the piping as seen on the back of the mitt but labeling is clearly visible and there are no splits or cracks. Great shape for a mitt of its age. Makes a great display piece.   

Spalding Trapper model 1st baseman's mitt

This is a 1940's Spalding "Trapper" model 1st baseman's mitt. This glove is in great shape except for some torn piping at the wrist on the pocket side of the glove and on the back hand opening portion. It can be seen in the photo. Other than that the glove is in great shape with all lacing intact and labeling clearly visible. A good deal at this price.   

Wilson Trapper model 1st baseman's mitt

This is a Wilson "Trapper" model 1st baseman's mitt from the 1940s era. It is in excellent condition with all of the lacing intact and the piping in great condition. It has no splits or cracks only shows normal signs of wear. This is a great display piece. With this glove we will also throw in another similar model Trapper that needs all of the lacing. It is very old and needs some work so we will include it for FREE.

It has 14 signatures of catchers on it, mostly former Phillies: Bob Boone, Ozzie Virgil & Keith Moreland (1980 Phils), Chris Coste (2000 Phils), Todd Pratt (2005 Phils), Clay Dalrymple (1960 Phils), Darren Daulton (1993 Phils), Andy Seninick & Stan Lopata (1950 Whiz Kids), Jimmy Schaffer (1966 Phils), Stanley Glenn & Bill "Ready" Cash (of the Philadelphia Stars of the Negro Leagues), Joe Astroth (1940's-50's Philadelphia Athletics) & Ruth Richard of the 1942-45 Rockford Peaches of Women's Major League Baseball which was depicted in the film "A League of Their Own."
