JOEY GIARDELLO - JAKE LaMOTTA Autographed Glove
$325
This glove is autographed by two great middleweight champs, Joey Giardello and Jake LaMotta. These two men had something in common besides being great fighters: Hollywood. Jake LaMotta 's life story was depicted in the film "Raging Bull" starring Robert DiNiro. And Joey Giardello was also unkindly portrayed in the film "Hurricane" about Rubin "Hurricane" Carter whom he fought in Dec. of 1964. Although he clearly won on a decision over Carter, the movie falsely showed Giardello, played by actor Ben Bray, as blood splattered and beaten by Carter but winning a racially biased decision. Jake later sued the movie makers and was awarded un undisclosed sum for tarnishing his reputation. Carter even admitted that Giardello had won the fight.

His finesrt fight with Ali was billed as "The Fight of the Century" in which Joe won by a 15 round unanimous decision. This fight was so brutal that both men spent time in the hospital afterwards. Their final bout was called "The Thrilla in Manila" and ended when Frazier's trainer threw in the towel in the 15th round of another brutal bout.
